During the Islamic History Month Open House in October, we brought in an instructor who coordinated a quick Calligraphy program that caught the interest of many of those who attended. Our Education Committee has followed up with the instructor and have arranged another free workshop followed up with a paid program for those interested in learning more about the art of Calligraphy. The details are as follows:
- Our Objectives are to get our youth and adults engaged in a fun activity that ultimately help them in the writing and transcribing beautifully the Arabic Language. The instruction will focus only on writing verses from the Holy Quran and Hadith to link the Arabic language to Islam.
- The instructor will conduct one free workshop on Sunday November 24th between 1:30 and 2:30 pm followed by registration for the first 10 to 15 applicants.
- Priority will be given to our youth, then their family members, then our adult community.
- Course fees will be $100 per applicant for 10 classes over a 10 week period, one class per week.
Please see the attached flyer for more information and we look forward to seeing a big number of our community at the first workshop and if there is sufficient interest we will insha Allah run more similar classes in the future.
Lastly, our sincere thanks go to the volunteers of our Education committee who work tirelessly at organizing and presenting such programs to the benefit of the entire community. May Allah multiply the reward for all those who work for His sake.
